Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter you flame. -B.K.S. Iyengar
I attended my first yoga class back in 2013, when I went with a friend to a hot class ~really started with a bang 😉
I will never forget the teacher explaining beforehand that if you get lightheaded or feel as if you’ll pass out, to lie down on your mat. He said, it’s better to stay in the room than to walk out. I remember feeling so stuck and locked in. After completed, I did feel a strong sense of accomplishment as (if I remember correctly) I did lay down or took a childs pose, but I also completed the class without walking out. Heat was a huge obstacle for me at that time, so this was a huge deal! Yoga continued to show up in my life, on and off for years. I flowed from having a very dedicated practice, to sharing inspirational quotes and not moving my body at all, and everything in between.
After caring for my grandmother, I was seeking something for me. More. My kids were both in regular school and yoga (once again) presented itself. My journey led me to BeYoga where I received my 200 hr. Yoga Teacher Training.
After being a self proclaimed “hot mess express with a PhD in anxiety” (check out my IG) ~ I have found my practice helps my anxiety and has shown me that even I can find the calm within. Whether through group practice, a solo journey, corporate experience, in person or online event; asana, meditation, hiking, or coffee – I hope to connect and am enthusiastic to spread the light in which I have found to all of those within my path.
